A bat found dead in Hood County on October 30th tested positive for rabies. Residents are urged to avoid wild animals and report any acting strangely to Hood County Sheriff’s Dispatch at (817) 579-3311.
Rabies is fatal if untreated, but preventable with vaccination. Ensure your pets are vaccinated and consult your veterinarian for more information.
This is the fourth rabies case in Hood County this year.
