The Erath County Commissioners Court placed a burn ban, effective immediately and until further notice, according to an announcement from the Sheriff’s Office. The Commissioners Court determined that “circumstances present in the unincorporated area of the county create a public safety hazard that would be exacerbated by outdoor burning.” All outdoor burning is banned until further notice, but outdoor cooking is allowed. Welding is also allowed under certain restrictions.
